The mayor of Pamplona, Enrique Maya (Navarra Suma), today assured that he is in a “period of reflection” about his political future and has set a deadline until Christmas to decide whether or not he will run for mayor of Pamplona again.

Enrique Maya appeared this morning after various media reported that he is not seeking re-election.

Maya has said that “whatever happens, you have to take it normal”, and in fact he has commented that he wants to take it that way himself, although he knows these are moments of “expectation”.

Likewise, he has indicated that “many issues” are involved in the decision, from “personal factors” to others of “political importance” to his party.

Maya has also declined to comment on the other party’s candidates coming to be known, and has shown her “maximum respect for everyone”, to whom she has said she knows them personally “and I can only speak well”.

For his part, the President of UPN, Javier Esparzahas maintained they are waiting for “whatever he decides” and added that when Enrique Maya makes the decision, they will discuss it and make it public.
