The numerous investigations against Heinz-Christian Strache have also left economic marks on the ex-FPÖ leader: last year the former vice-chancellor asked for donations in several Facebook posts – now he is doing the same on his recently launched YouTube channel, der has 380 subscribers to date.
Heinz-Christian Strache, who came across the video from Ibiza, will face a second bribery charge before the Vienna Regional Criminal Court from 7 June. And the expense affair, along with other investigations, is anything but over. As is well known, Strache is accused of having financed his private life for years with money from the FPÖ and of foisting false accounts on the party. Strache denies this.
“Fight against slander”
Strache’s financial situation has been looking bleak for some time now. After several calls for donations on Facebook, he is now trying his luck on his recently launched YouTube channel. “Please support my political work for our freedom, a social homeland, the commitment to fundamental rights, as well as freedom of opinion and diversity of opinion, as well as the fight and the clarification against the targeted defamation of my person and for the legal process – those who want to support can make a donation Thank you for your interest and every supporter!”, it reads.
A book on the shelf
So far the channel has 380 subscribers – there is still room for improvement. Two videos are available there: one about the verdict against detective Julian Hessenthaler in Ibiza and one about the visit of Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) to Ukraine. In the first video, uploaded a week ago, Strache is still sitting in front of a completely deserted bookshelf. Meanwhile, a book has made its way to the shelf – it’s his own. In the book entitled “The Ibiza Assassination” he works on his deep fall.
