In Upper Austria, a social benefit for families is being significantly increased – and yet there is a complaint from the SPÖ. as the? Well, it is the state allowance for families, currently 900 euros, who prefer to take care of their children at home. The SPÖ sees this as a “herd premium” for women.
The anger of the SPÖ in Upper Austria’s state parliament is directed at the country’s childcare bonus, for which family official Manfred Haimbuchner (FPÖ) is responsible. This premium, last increased from € 700 to € 900 per year in 2019, is available to families who do not send their child to a non-contributory childcare from the age of 3 until the beginning of the compulsory kindergarten year at the latest, but then watch at home.
