People’s representatives will receive more money from January 1 – not everyone is happy. Viennese FPÖ boss Dominik Nepp has the “Krone” sit up and take note of an interesting idea.
Just like the railway workers or the trade recently, the politicians can also look forward to higher salaries from 1 January. For them there is 5.3 percent more. For top representatives at federal and state level, this means a basket of around 1,000 euros more per month.
“That is about the same as the total income of a minimum pensioner, and these people are particularly affected by the current price increases,” calculates Viennese FPÖ club president Dominik Nepp.
Donate extra income for those affected by inflation
Nepp demands from the “Krone” that top politicians in the city and the federal government donate their extra income. Nepp: “For many Viennese, 2023 will not be a battle for life, but a battle for survival. Since the salary increase cannot be refused, I will send it directly to those who are particularly affected and go shopping with them or pay for children’s sports courses.
In the case of Nepp, that is several thousand euros per year.
