The committee of inquiry into the Wien Energie case is becoming increasingly explosive. The judges ask for analogue and digital correspondence from Mayor Ludwig and Alderman Hanke.
Not only the discussion about the corona measures can become a burden to the mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig. The independent arbitral tribunal of the U-Commission on Wien Energie on Thursday accepted the ÖVP’s requests for evidence on the correspondence of the mayor and the municipal councilor for finance Peter Hanke.
Must hand in cell phones from work
The SPÖ leaders are now being asked to hand over the analogue and electronic correspondence, all relevant agenda items and the communication history of the company’s mobile phones.
Now serve as evidence
VP club president Markus Wölbitsch: “With the decision, we have taken a major step forward in the investigation. Now it is up to the SPÖ Vienna and the city of Vienna to also hand over the requested evidence.” The Commission of Inquiry has no direct control.
As the presiding judge Martin Pühringer announced in the previous session: “The commission lacks the legal basis to compel an authority or persons to hand over evidence.”
