Euskaraz irakurri: Garamendik dio eskumenak trasnferitzeko borondaterik ez diola ikusten Espainiako Gobernuari
The Minister of Self-Government and Administration of the Basque Government, Olatz Garamendi, assured this Wednesday that she does not see any willingness on the part of the Spanish government to transfer the powers corresponding to the Basque Country.
In Euskadi Irratia’s “Factory” program, the counselor stated that the management of Cercanías is more advanced, but that “it is taking longer than expected”.
“Those powers are in our statute. I hope that the government of Spain abides by the constitution, by the statute of autonomy and, above all, by what it has agreed with this country,” he said.
Garamendi has also referred to the ruling of the Supreme Court of the Basque Country (TSJPV) against the Barakaldo City Council prohibiting the determination of Basque language levels to outsource cultural services, and has expressed concern that Basque is being “excessively” prosecuted.
