In order to provide families with consistent and nationwide childcare, the state of Tyrol supports local childcare facilities with extra money. We are working hard to expand kindergartens, crèches and after-school clubs.
Since September 2022, there is holiday care for 7.50 euros per open quarter. “For example, for a group that is open 50 hours a week for nine weeks in the summer, that means an increase in the subsidy by 10,500 euros. The provision will therefore now receive 13,500 euros instead of the previous 3,000 euros,” the state said.
18.25 million euros extra for personnel costs
Managers of after-school clubs, crèches and gardens – often municipalities – can also apply for money for investments and for the expansion, renovation or extension of group rooms.
There are higher subsidies not only for holiday opening times, but also for additional personnel or management activities. This year, the government will make an extra 18.25 million euros available for personnel costs.
Year-round childcare is key to reconciling family and work, says Bildungs-LR Cornelia Hagele (ÖVP): “The expansion of rural childcare is therefore an important factor for the labor market.”
