Interview with PSE-EE General Secretary Eneko Andueza in Euskadi Irratia on 11 January 2023


The Secretary General of the PSE-EE has made his assessment of the sentences imposed on the three former leaders of the PNV in Álava for corruption related to the De Miguel case.

A day after the Supreme Court upheld the capital sentences imposed on the three former leaders of the PNV in Álava for corruption related to the De Miguel case, the reactions continue. In an interview given to the “Faktoria” program by Euskadi Irratia, the general secretary of the PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, believes that there is no excuse for these people to remain at their posts and therefore hopes that they will soon be “out”. Yesterday, the Basque government ordered the resignations of Alfredo De Miguel and Koldo Otxandiano: De Miguel, from the public company Hazi; Otxandiano, from the Álava Technology Park.

In any case, he believes that they could have been fired sooner. Andueza understands the argument of the PNV and the Basque government, but thinks so do something else from an ethical point of view.

The leader of the PSE-EE has thrown away that your party has had a lukewarm response in Miguel’s case. Moreover, according to him, the attitude of the PSE-EE has been “correct” and “vigorous”. On the other hand, he has accused the opposition parties of seeking political gain in this electoral context.
