Opening of the Parliament: – Sigi Maurer celebrated with mason’s apprentices

Date:

The “Krone” explains why five mason’s apprentices celebrated with the political celebrities. Magnus Brunner fell on his way home from the festival with the e-scooter.

The entire state elite thrashed along during the opening ceremony of parliament. From Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen to Karl Nehammer. The real stars, however, were others in the venerable colonnaded hall: the guests of honor of the second Speaker of Parliament, Doris Bures. She had invited five apprentice bricklayers who had worked on the renovation for three years. At the ceremony in the Reichsratssaal, the bricklayers, who have now completed their training, received several rounds of applause from the politicians as a thank you.

Maurer was disappointed with Schäuble’s speech
A member of parliament was very popular with the craftsmen because of her last name – the green club boss Sigi Maurer. Maurer was disappointed with the content of former German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble’s speech, but was enthusiastic about the masons.

The ex-pupils’ eager attempt to teach the manager of the green club the trick of how “a real mason” opens a beer bottle – without a bottle opener – failed, but that was not allowed to spoil the good atmosphere “between masons and masons”.

Finance Minister Magnus Brunner and ÖVP club boss August Wöginger clearly had a lot of fun with the young Austrians. The trio of Maurer, Wöginger and Brunner showed the greatest fortitude among the top politicians. They left the festival far behind the host, Wolfgang Sobotka. On the way home – it was already Friday the 13th – Brunner’s luck ran out. The finance minister fell with the e-scooter and had to be treated in hospital.
