In an interview on krone.tv, campaign advisor and proven expert on the United States of America, Yussi Pick, analyzes the new presidency of Donald Trump and the role of influential billionaires such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.
To start, the question is what we should prepare for during Trump’s new presidency: “A lot. In a very radical way. To much chaos. We must not forget that Donald Trump thrives on chaos.”
With Trump you have to pay close attention to what he says and what he does – which is not always the same: ‘With this second victory for Donald Trump, the Republican Party has become a little more like the Trump Party. Even more than four years ago.” Europe must also ask itself how Europe can become more independent from the US in global security policy: “These will be difficult debates.” announcements mean some problems are coming our way. Also because of the conflict he creates: “He says populist things, he says radical things, he says extreme things. Which sound good to the first listener, but upon closer inspection actually worsen the reality of people’s lives.”
Role model Elon Musk?
Multi-billionaires around Donald Trump, such as Elon Musk, who recently showed a kind of Hitler salute: “I don’t think that was a so-called Hitler salute. That was a Hitler salute. Why he did this is to show others: ‘I can do it, that means you can do it too’. As the richest man in the world, he can afford it and loves being a role model here and moving forward.”
But what does this Hitler salute actually mean? Pick: “That this ideology, which we thought we had left behind, is alive and well again and is once again gaining a foothold in large parts of the US and also here in Europe. Not among a majority of the population, but among the radical minority that is needed to govern. The same people who now cheer for Elon Musk or feel empowered by Musk’s Hitler salute stormed the Capitol four years ago. There were also many neo-Nazis there. These are one and the same people. This is not a majority, but it is a growing minority that dominates our society.”
Trump is Musk’s puppet
The Hitler salute did not arise from an emotional situation: “It was a very conscious action.” In general, Musk even had much further intentions: “He cannot become president himself because he was born in South Africa. But he’s certainly enjoying this charade. Musk believes Donald Trump is his puppet. You also see this in Germany, where he also does a puppet show. And you also see that in Great Britain.”
