Side jobs etc. – The ORF is currently in permanent crisis

Date:

In addition to the Ziegler affair and the “savings ultimatum”, part-time jobs of ORF celebrities are also generating excitement. Meanwhile, the governor of Lower Austria, Mikl-Leitner, wants to waive the right to a hearing.

Director General Roland Weißmann currently has to extinguish every nook and cranny as a crisis fire brigade. On the one hand, there are allegations of intervention in favor of the ÖVP against the director of the Lower Austrian state studio, which has been investigated by an internal committee. The father of eight children – he recently had to deal with a private fate with the death of his father – sees himself as the victim of an intrigue and will testify before the examiners next week. Before a possible suspension, the ORF boss is still waiting for the result of the committee.

Yesterday there was another excitement, probably not coincidentally in the election campaign of Lower Austria: the settlement by video with FPÖ boss Udo Landbauer, including open advertising of “Hanni” by the blue member of the state parliament, Ina Aigner.

Back to the construction sites at Küniglberg: The Ethics Council is also investigating lucrative part-time jobs (event moderation) of ORF celebrities. Some cases can hardly be justified under public law. Not a good omen for the second political summit with Media Minister Susanne Raab discussing the future funding of state radio.

Meanwhile, in the future, the governor of Lower Austria, Johanna Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP), repeated “Krone’s” request to “waive the right to be heard by the director of the state studio”.
