Talk to Katia Wagner – “Chancellor Kickl not entirely unrealistic”

Date:

In a conversation with Katia Wagner, editor-in-chief of the Kronen Zeitung, Klaus Herrmann, he explains that a Chancellor Kickl is “not entirely unrealistic”. Even the Federal President could not help it and, according to lawyers, Herbert Kickl had to be sworn in as head of government. Refusing “is almost impossible,” says Herrmann.

While the FPÖ is in a festive mood after the elections in Lower Austria, the mood within the ÖVP is probably gloomy. The editor-in-chief of the “Krone” also does not rule out personal consequences. “Success encompasses a lot. Now you hear more and more criticism,” reports Klaus Herrmann.

Self-criticism of the red mayor: ‘It doesn’t get much worse’
Even in the SPÖ, the mood is rather mau. The popular mayor of Traiskirchen, Andreas Babler, explains self-critically: “It doesn’t get much worse than that.” Babler also found the post-election reaction – the election goal of breaking the absolute of the ÖVP – “unbearable”. and “an insult to all officials”. He admits that the SPÖ “made many mistakes, of course”. “We forgot a lot of our principles,” Babler said, was one of those mistakes.

‘It will be a difficult story’
The political scientist Thomas Hofer still assumes a black-red coalition in Lower Austria and believes that at least until April, when the elections are won in Salzburg, calm will return to the red personnel debate in the Social Democrats. But after that “the pressure on Pamela Rendi-Wagner will increase enormously, it will be a violent story,” Hofer is sure. Within politics there is currently only one who has a clear plan. And that’s Herbert Kickl.

Wrong subject setting of the “Woken”?
Former ÖVP spokesman Daniel Kapp describes the 39.94% for Johanna Mikl-Leitner as a “solid result”. Still, in historical comparison, this is “absolute slapstick”. The elections in Lower Austria were a “protest” election. “In a cloudy world, where gender is discussed on the registration form, the employee no longer feels understood and represented,” explains Kapp. The FPÖ succeeded in uniting the dissatisfied.

“Would you be interested in the position of SPÖ boss?” “That would be great”
Like many others, Klaus Herrmann did not see the FPÖ’s success come that far. But now the way is also clear in the federal government: “There are still 3 series ahead”, says the editor-in-chief. Andreas Babler (SPÖ) also surprised with an announcement. Would he even allow himself to be seduced by the SPÖ main post? “That would be a nice story! It is never out of the question that I also want to become SPÖ boss”…
