Yesterday, Thursday, Emmanuel Macron visited Saint-Denis, one of the bastions of the left in the Parisian suburbs, and warned that Marine Le Pen risk of “civil war” In France. Le Pen’s – he added – is “a program of civil war, of discord, if applied seriously”, while at the same time calling it “incoherent”.

Macron had already pointed to the danger of civil war in Wednesday’s debate as the far-right candidate championed a law to islamic veil in public spaces such as public transport or on the street. The head of state and the candidate believed that this measure violates the principle of secularism in France.

The Liberal leader also denied the allegations of “arrogance” for his position in the debate for Le Pen and claimed that he is in contact with ordinary people “every day”.

Marine Le Pen pledges to be “the president of purchasing power” at latest campaign rally

At the latest campaign rally in Arras, Pas-de-Calais, the far-right candidate for the French presidency, Marine Le Pen, pledged this Thursday to be “the president of purchasing power”.

“People of France: the time has come to stand up and unite against the oligarchy whose only religions are globalism, the ceaseless war of all against all, social sacrifice and the exclusive rule of the invisible hand of faceless markets, soulless and boundless.” Le Pen named some 4,000 supporters.

In a nearly 45-minute speech, Le Pen criticized Macron’s “condescending” and “arrogant” attitude in Wednesday’s televised debate.

According to Le Pen, this attitude was “an affirmation of the personality of Emmanuel Macron (…) who does not like the French, and especially those who disagree with his politics.”

Arras is a city in the Pas-de-Calais department with an industrial and mining past, where the far-right candidate won the first round of the presidential election.
