Nerea Melgosa Vega has taken office as the new Minister of Equality, Justice and Social Policy of the Basque Government. The law was implemented in Ajuria Enea and then participated in the first council of government.
In this way Melgosa replaces Beatriz Artolazabalwho has left office to prepare his candidacy for mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Melgosa (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 1970) knows the department she now leads well, as she has been an advisor there for two years. Before that, for 12 years (from 2007 to 2019), she was Director of Equality and Human Rights of the Provincial Council of Álava and Councilor of the Municipal Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
She has been associated with the PNV since the 1990s and in recent years she has been a member of the Euzkadi Buru Batzar, which deals with social issues. She is Basque (she studied at the ikastola Olabide in the capital of Alava) and has a degree in sociology and political science from the University of Deusto. He also has a master’s degree in Human Resources (EADA business school).
