Renate Anderl, chairman of the Chamber of Labour, supported party leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner in the internal discussion of the SPÖ on Sunday. In the ORF “Press hour”, Anderl said that the SPÖ has a chairman in Rendi-Wagner, “whom I appreciate very much” and that she “will be the best candidate”. Anderl has no understanding for the personnel discussion that is also being conducted within the party.
These “lateral shots damage the party”, the AK president declared, without mentioning Burgenland governor Hans Peter Doskosil. If you don’t continue together, things will go downhill, she said of the polls, which stagnated for the SPÖ.
AK chairman against staff discussion
The SPÖ should focus more on business and not on people. Anderl was convinced that the SPÖ had the right topics, but these were overshadowed by the staff interviews. How to stop these people’s debates within the party, she “has no answer to”, said the AK chairman.
Anderl does not believe that the fact that Alexander Wrabetz was invited by Mayor Michael Ludwig to the opera ball in his box was a signal for the former general director of the ORF as future SPÖ chairman. It is only interpreted that way by the media.
Regarding her personal future, Anderl stated that she did not aspire to any other job in politics. She is “heart and soul” AK president. Last year, she announced in a “personal statement” that she would run for the position again in 2024.
