The General Secretariat of Penitentiaries, under the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Equality, Justice and Social Policy of the Basque Government, have agreed to transfer the last five inmates, four inmates and one inmate, to the prisons of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country (CAV), as EITB Media has learned.

Asier Borrero He entered prison on February 25, 2019. He is serving a 6-year prison sentence for possession, manufacture and placement of explosives and will be transferred from El Dueso Penitentiary Center (Cantabria). He will serve three quarters of his sentence in August 2023.
At the suggestion of the treatment commission of the Cantabrian Prison, the prisoner was initially classified in the second degree and transferred to the penitentiary center designated by the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.

In January 2022, he will have served three-quarters of his sentence.
Irantzu Gallastegi will be transferred from the Penitentiary Center Madrid VII (Estremera) to the corresponding penitentiary center in the CAV. He entered prison on June 14, 2005 and is serving a total of 30 years for murder, terrorist kidnapping, possession of explosives and wreaking havoc. He will serve three-quarters of his sentence in November 2024.
For his part, Faustina Marcos, is transferred from the Daroca Penitentiary Center (Zaragoza). He entered prison on February 20, 2010 and is serving a sentence of 12 years and 14 months for membership in an armed gang, possession of weapons and counterfeiting money. In December 2019, he served three-quarters of the sentence.
On the other hand, there is one last ETA prisoner who has decided of his own free will to stay in a prison in Madrid.
