What are the main concerns of citizens two months before the elections?

EITB Focus measures street temperatures two months before municipal and regional elections in the broadest survey ever conducted in the BAC and Navarra.

EITB Focus returns to two months after the municipal and regional elections of 28 May with the wider research never published, with 8000 interviews conducted in the BAC and Navarre.

For example, the EITB media will measure the temperature of the Basque society in the coming days and all data from intention to vote of the elections to the municipal councils, the general assemblies and the parliament of Navarre, both both on historical territory and in the capitals and major cities.

If progresstoday we wanted to know up close what are the main concerns of the public.

Basque country

In that sense, and with regard to the matters managed by municipalities36.1% of people surveyed in the CAV coincided with pointing out the economy and employment as their main concern, followed by the citizen security (28.6%), the municipal services (17.6%), the culture and sports (5.6%), the transport (3.2%) and the traffic (1.9%).

exactly, the economy and employment repeat as the main concern among the citizens of Vitoria-Gasteiz (44.1%) and Donostia-San Sebastian (36.4%), but not so in Bilbao (29.7%), with the problems of citizen security (42.0%).

Economy and employment are again a priority for the majority of citizens (51.2%) among the affairs managed by the provinces. Social policy ranks second (24.3%) and further behind taxes (8.5%), transportation (5.3%) and highways (4.7%).

Navarre

In Navarre, where regional elections and so the powers of the Forale government and the proposed answers differ from those of county councils and city councils, 27.1% of those surveyed cite the health as their main concern, followed by unemployment (16.9%), the political tension (7.3%), the economic situation (6.3%) and the inflation (5.5%).

Methodology

6649 people live in the CAV were interviewed in preparation for the special edition of EITB Focus on the municipal and regional elections on May 28 (1,543 in Álava, 2,483 in Bizkaia and 2,623 in Gipuzkoa). In Navarrehave been the participating people 1204.

Random sample stratified by Historic territory, description, municipality, gender and age.

The fieldwork has been done February 27 to March 17 in the CAVand from 2February 2 to 27 in Navarre.
