Bakartxo Ruizhead of the list EH Picturehas stated that, having put three legislatures at the forefront of politics, “I feel a cycle has come to an end.”
In an interview on Radio Euskadi’s ‘Boulevard’, Ruiz refers to the decision announced yesterday, Tuesday, not to participate in the municipal and provincial elections of May 2023.
The representative of the sovereign coalition explained her decision, stating: “I understand that you need to know how to end a cycle for someone like me. A few years ago I would not have thought of going into politics, and there are already three legislatures I feel like a cycle has come to an end.”
“You have to know when to start a cycle and when to end a cycle, there is one legislative year left, and I keep on waging war, I keep on contributing to politics“, added.
At the end of the legislature, Ruiz indicated yesterday that he will leave the front line of politics and will return to education.
Bakartxo Ruiz first appeared on the EH Bildu lists in 2011. This Sunday is the deadline for potential candidates to submit their candidacy, but the name of the person who will replace him on the list will not be known until November.
