Helga Krismer, the state spokeswoman for the Lower Austrian Greens, speaks clearly in the TV conversation with Gerhard Koller: “The rent brake must come, and it must be as uncomplicated as possible. With that I will get on the nerves of the ÖVP in Lower Austria.” Much more needs to be implemented, because there was a month-long standstill in her state before the state elections – “and that still exists today”, Krismer criticizes the new black-blue state government.
The coalition negotiations would have been disappointing: “Some were clumsy and blundered,” she says, referring to the Lower Austrian SPÖ. Since there is generally too much land use in the state, further soil sealing should be reduced. Her suggestion: “The introduction of a second residence tax. That would be positive and anyone who takes up more and more space would have to pay”, for example for the purchase of a second home in Niederösterreich.
Wind energy on the rise
Krismer also expects new areas to be designated for wind turbines in the autumn: wind energy will become an essential part of energy generation in the future, and more and more people living near wind farms are seeing this.
