The Provincial Court of Gipuzkoa will host this Thursday the second of the recognition wheels to get clarification on the shooting of four members of the Anti-capitalist Autonomous Commandos in the port of pasia in the hands of the National Police.
The first took place on March 28 and the sole survivor of the massacre, Joseba Merino, was unable to identify a single police officer. The three agents who still have to go through the wheel will participate in this session.
As in the previous one, family and friends They will gather at the gates of the court (10 a.m.) to demand to “know the truth”.
In the previous round of reconnaissance, Merino was unable to “100%” identify any agent. However, he had high hopes for the “attitude and will” of the judge “to clarify what happened”.
This year marks the 39th anniversary of the massacre, an anniversary that has come with important news. In addition to the reopening of the case, the existence of a UPV/EHU report on the events in Pasaia Bay, which the Basque government had dedicated to the UPV/EHU’s UNESCO Chair for Human Rights and Public Power, became known. The work concluded that the operation was an “extrajudicial execution”.
