Inflation, and with it the areas of social affairs, housing and energy, had been hot topics in the election campaign for a long time. However, the negotiators hardly wrote any concrete measures in this regard in their government programme.
The FPÖ in particular denounced the cost-of-living support of the federal and state governments last year. These would be set too low and generally wrong. Now the PVV is at the helm and can show how things can be improved. For this they were given two central departments for fighting inflation with the social sector and housing. However, the 60-page government program doesn’t say much about how the Blues envision the fight against inflation. On the contrary, when it comes to the most important issues, the document is remarkably vague.
