Aitor Esteban will head the list for Bizkaia to Congress, Maribel Vaquero will occupy the first position in Gipuzkoa and Mikel Legarda will be number one on the Araba/Álava list. Likewise, the first place in the candidacy for the congress for Navarre will be occupied by María Solana.
The National Assembly of the PNV has unanimously approved the lists with which the jeltzale formation will be present next general elections on 23 July at an extraordinary meeting held this Saturday.
In this context, the chairman of the EBB Andoni Ortuzar has argued for “think about who best represents the interests of the people living in Euskadi. The PNV has a long and proven track record of defending Basque interests in Madrid. They have been watching us for more than 100 years.” In this sense, the jeltzale leader has set an example “the investments, projects, infrastructure, welfare, rights and freedoms of the Basques managed from there, from Madrid“.
For his part, Aitor Estebanhead of the list of the PNV to the congress for Bizkaia, has emphasized that on July 23 “nwhether Sánchez or Feijóo is chosenbut to the people who will represent the four territories in Congress and in the Senate for the next four years.” Thus, he has ensured that “It’s not about choosing between black or white.” but that “there are more colors, including the green of the PNV, that’s what the best team is for defend the CAV, its people, its institutions, its self-government and its well-being“.
“In recent years we have shielded the Economic Agreement, we have renewed the Five-Year Quota Act, we have implemented the transfer of the Minimum Vital Income, we have improved pensions, we have ensured that the High Speed Train reaches our capitals as it should be, we have we enabled the official status of the Basque surf and ball teams (…) We have done those things, and we will do many more things, because we will have the best team again” concluded the jeltzale candidate.
In addition, Maribel Cowboynumber one on the PNV Congress list for Gipuzkoa, has stated that “There is a lot at stake in Madrid“and that jeltzales are synonymous with”work, dialogue and agreement“. For his part, Mike Legardahead of the congressional list for Araba/Álava, thanked the opportunity to represent this area with “a renewed purpose of public service, aware of the challenges we face and with full confidence in the Basque Country, in its society and in the competition”.
