The Basque Parliament urges the Basque government to review the protocols of sexist violence

The agreement between PNV, EH Bildu, PSE-EE and Elkarrekin Podemos-IU also urges the executive to continue the work started by the Sexist Violence Oversight Commission. In addition, it calls for an investigation into the treatment the sexist murders of Orio and Vitoria-Gasteiz have received in the media.

The Basque Parliament is debating an initiative on sexist violence this Thursday, and PNV, EH Bildu, PSE-EE and Elkarrekin Podemos-IU have reached a compromise urging the Basque government to implement both the III Interinstitutional Agreement and the Protocols and to continue the work started by the sexist violence monitoring committee.

Likewise, regarding the sexist murders that took place in Orio and Vitoria-Gasteiz, the four groups are asking for an investigation into the treatment they received in the media. In concrete terms, they propose to investigate within the Begira Committee whether or not this treatment complies with the self-regulation code.
