The Independent Platform signed a coalition agreement with EH Bildu to appoint Asier Larrauri as mayor, but he resigned yesterday after a traffic accident and a positive alcohol test. The college of mayor and aldermen will be appointed as of next Monday.
In the coming hours, the name of the new mayor of Bermeo will be announced after Asier Larrauri (EH Bildu) resigned after a traffic accident and a positive test for alcohol. EH Bildu got the mayoralty with the support of the Guzan Independent Platform.
The Guzan Independent Platform, from Bermeo, issued a brief statement last night recalling the coalition agreement signed with EH Bildu and showing that, given the circumstances, it was prepared to adopt “the responsibility to direct the decisions necessary to ensure the stability and manageability of Bermeo”.
The municipal government council will be appointed from this Monday and, according to the coalition agreement, “the functions of the councilors of both formations will be assigned, as well as the position of deputy mayor of Xabier Ortuzar Butron, by Guzan”.
