The Bizkaia provincial council government team will include five new names, those of Ager Izagirre, Itxaso Berrojalbiz, Leixuri Arrizabalaga, Arantzazu Atutxa and Sonia Pérez.
The new government team of the Bizkaia Provincial Council, made up mainly of women, will again have nine branches, seven of which will be led by the PNV and two by the PSE-EE. The Executive will include five new names, that of Ager Izagirre, Itxaso Berrojalbiz, Leixuri Arrizabalaga, Arantzazu Atutxa and Sonia Perez.
The new deputy general of Bizkaia, Elixabete Etxanobe, announced the names of her team after being chosen during the plenary inauguration session held this Wednesday at the Casa de Juntas de Gernika. For the first time, the Provincial Council will have a woman as deputy general and there are also the most areas that will be led by women, a total of seven.
Five members of the previous regional government will again have responsibilities in this mandate, including Etxanobe himself, who until now was deputy for public administration and institutional relations.
In addition, in the areas managed by the PNV Imanol Pradales is again responsible for the Infrastructure and Territorial Development area, Ainara Basurko reps at the head of Economic Promotion, and Amaia Antxustegi He will henceforth be responsible for the Social Action portfolio. In the departments led by the PSE-EE, Teresa Laespada returns to direct employment, social cohesion and equality.
On the other hand, under the new names of the Executive, they have been included in the PNV-driven departments, in Public Administration and Institutional Relations the former mayor of Mungia Ager Izagirre, in Treasury and Finance Itxaso Berrojalbiz, in Euskera, Culture and Sports Leixuri Arrizabalaga, and in Natural Environment and Agriculture Arantzazu Atutxa.
In the socialist areas, the former Minister of Commerce, Tourism and Consumption of the Basque government is added Sonia Pérez responsible for Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Tourism.
The Etxanobe Executive will thus have nine areas, seven of which will be governed by the PNV and two will be led by the PSE-EE, as in the previous legislature.
