The FPÖ state deputy of Lower Austria, Udo Landbauer, is currently leading surveys that he himself does not pay attention to. In an interview with the “Krone”, he explains his transport policy, his political goals and (again) confirms that he does not care whether he is called state governor or vice-governor.
It was a Krone article that caused a minor political earthquake in the country. “FPÖ takes first place from Mikl-Leitner”, the front page read on Tuesday. As reported, this was based on a survey commissioned by the SPÖ club and doubted by many pundits, putting the FPÖ at 31 percent – and thus ahead of the ÖVP. But Udo Landbauer does not want to hear about this during our meeting in the boathouse in Wiener Neustadt.
