The appointment is part of the agreements between PSN, Geroa Bai and Contigo Zurekin.
The head of Geroa Bai’s list in the last regional elections and former president of Navarra, Uxue Barkos, will be nominated by her formation to hold the position of regional senator, a position she will probably receive thanks to the government pact that has been reached with PSN and Contigo Zurekin and what her resignation as a formal parliamentarian will mean.
The appointment is part of the agreements between PSN, Geroa Bai and Contigo Zurekin in which the various functions in the future government and other functions derived from it are divided, such as the chairmanship of the Provincial Parliament or the autonomous senator, in both cases for Geroa.
The formation, consisting of PNV and Socialverdes, has decided to nominate Barkos to the Senate, who will replace his colleague Koldo Martínez in the autumn, which entails his resignation as a member of the Provincial Parliament, in which he will take a seat in May for the third consecutive legislature and where everything indicated that he would continue to act as spokesperson for his education.
The former President of the Government of Navarra (2015-2019) was already a deputy in Congress from 2004 to 2015 and also a spokesman for Nafarroa Bai in Pamplona City Council from 2007 to 2015.
