Good news for the Viennese, who are plagued by inflation. In any case, the rates for water, household waste, sewerage and parking will remain the same around the turn of the year.
August 18 is an important date every year. An index is calculated that is linked to the consumer price. If the value is higher than three percent, the Valorisation Act comes into effect. This means that the rates for water, sewerage, garbage collection and parking will increase at the turn of the year.
That is not the case this time. The value is just below it. Namely at 2.9 percent, explains a spokesman for Finance and Economic Councilor Peter Hanke (SPÖ) to the “Krone”. As a result, the municipal fees in 2024 will remain the same as this year.
