The Socialist Youth Vienna dissolved its district organization in Alsergrund on Monday. This was preceded by relevant anti-Israel statements about the conflict in the Middle East during a demonstration.
Because the SJ Alsergrund later even confirmed these anti-Israel statements, the board of the SJ Vienna unanimously dissolved the district organization. She is no longer part of the club, a spokesperson emphasized.
The comments came from a member of the Trotskyist organization “The Funke”. According to SJ Vienna, this follows the strategy of infiltrating and taking over the structures of the Socialist Youth. The SJ Alsergrund is used as a means “to distort and undermine the views of the socialist youth.”
For the state leadership of the Socialist Youth Vienna, this approach and positioning is incompatible with the principles of the Socialist Youth. This supports a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict.
