Will the masks in supermarkets and public transport be removed soon, will the vaccination obligation remain suspended? Constitutional Affairs Minister Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) and Health Minister Johannes Rauch present the government’s timetable – and krone.at reports live for you from 9 a.m.
The final report of the Compulsory Vaccination Monitoring Committee was awaited before the government could decide on the next steps. This was presented on Monday evening. The vaccination obligation should therefore remain suspended.
As for masks, Health Minister Rauch is likely to announce the end of the obligation to wear them as early as June, at least in supermarkets. Until now – and under the current arrangement until July 8 – it also applies to public transport, train stations, pharmacies, hospitals, homes and governments.
