The new federal government enjoys good progress of trust within the Austrian population. In the current APA/OGM Confidence Index there is more than half of the cabinet, which was last the case in 2020 after the Turquoise-Green Government team was involved-for the outbreak of Corona Pandemic. The ranking is mentioned by federal president Alexander van der Bellen.
Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer (Spö) with a balance of +9 is “trust” and “I have no trust”, followed by Minister of Education Christoph Return (Neos) with +8. Minister of Justice Anna Sporrer (+6), Minister of Women Eva-Maria Holzleitner (+5) and Minister of Social Affairs Korinna Schumann (+5) (all Spö) are also impressive. The State Secretary for Neos Josef Schellhorn is the most popular among State Secretaries, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Beate Meinl Reisinger (also Neos) leads with +4 for non-newcomers.
Routine loses shine
It is less pleasant for the routine in the government. It is best to do longer: Minister of Agriculture Norbert Tettschnig (ÖVP) with -5, at least ten points better than in the previous year. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner and Minister of Integration Claudia Plakolm (both ÖVP) are also in the min. At the bottom of the field: SPO baas Andreas Babler (-19) and Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (-13)-with a light plus, but further on the rear ranks.
Kickl is at the bottom
In the last place with a balance of -43, there is FPö chairman Herbert Kickl, who leads the ranking of the worst reliable for the club chefs of ÖVP and Groenen, August Wöginger (-24) and Sigrid Maurer (-22). Kickl is also the only one who lost to the last survey, and one point. The National Councilor Walter Rosenkranz (FPö), hostile by the other factions because of his mountain scaffold, is the worst among newcomers with -21 points.
