New timetable Corona – opposition very dissatisfied with government

Date:

The opposition is dissatisfied with the government’s announcements about Corona: while the FPÖ and SPÖ took the government to court, the NEOS found the far-reaching suspension of the mask requirement and the extension of the suspension of the vaccination requirement positive, but missed preparations for the autumn .

NEOS boss Beate Meinl-Reisinger thinks it’s “good” that the mask requirement is largely eliminated. In the margins of a press conference, she also applauded that the students will no longer have to test from June. Meinl-Reisinger pointed out that experts are currently not seeing any aggressive corona variants coming to the country. As a citizen you naturally wonder what will happen in the autumn.

Pandemic spokesman Gerald Loacker added in a broadcast that the government must now prepare for the fall and not sleep through the summer again. For example, he called on the government to create a legal basis so that trained pharmacists can also vaccinate, as the Chamber of Pharmacists has long demanded, but the Medical Association vehemently rejects.

SPÖ: “Unreasonable confusion”
SPÖ health spokesman Philip Kucher also lacks a clear government plan for the fall. People’s safety “is being jeopardized again,” criticized Kucher: “The government is stumbling along in its corona chaos containment and acting on the principle of hope.” July should be upheld and called an “unreasonable confusion” of the government.

FPÖ: “The government must go”
As expected, criticism from FPÖ chairman Herbert Kickl was even sharper, who accused the government of having “lost all connection with reality”. A life without mandatory masks and vaccinations should be the norm and not the exception, as the government proposed, Kickl said. In his opinion, the mask obligation should have been dropped immediately and not at the beginning of June, and the vaccination obligation should have been abolished and not just suspended. Instead of the government’s motto “the mask comes back”, according to the FPÖ leader, it should be: “The government must go.”
