EH Bildu, Elkarrekin Podemos and PP see ‘inertia and continuity’ in reports that are ‘more of the same’.
PNV and PSE have stressed that the opposition is showing a ‘lack of will’ when it comes to reaching an agreement on next year’s Basque budgets. For their part, EH Bildu, Elkarrekin Podemos and PP see “inertia and continuity” in the accounts.
In statements to Radio Euskadi on the program ‘Parliament on the Waves’, Basque parliamentarians analyzed last Friday’s approval of the Basque budgets for 2024, which ultimately only passed with the vote in favor of PNV and PSE.
The parliamentarian of PNV Aitor Urrutia has defended that it is an “ambitious” budget that will allow “to complete the government agreement with the PSE-EE, where social policy reaches more than 10,000 million euros.”
In his opinion, the process of approving the accounts was “the usual”, although “it was said from the beginning that it would be difficult to reach an agreement.” “There was a lack of will to reach an agreement and there was a scenario of confrontation between models. It was the last budgets, we had the absolute majority and everyone is trying to play their cards,” he assessed.
By EH BilduFor his part, parliamentarian Mikel Otero has warned that if there has been no negotiating table, this is ‘because the PNV did not want that’.
According to him, the executive has implemented the bills “without the possibility of attracting anyone and without rejecting the opposition’s proposals.” ‘They are more of the same; more money thanks to more collection, but without new ideas. There are still structural problems,” he criticized, adding that from the first minute the executive had “no interest in negotiating anything.”
For her part, the parliamentarian of PSE-EE Gloria Sánchez has acknowledged that the Bills are not what the Socialists would have presented if they had governed alone, although they do contain “the priorities set in the government’s program.”
By Elkarrekin Podemos-IUParliamentarian Iñigo Martínez has warned that the budget proposal “is not only measured by weight, but also in relation to the country model that is being designed.”
Finally, the parliamentarian of PP Carmelo Barrio has described the Accounts as “continuous” and opined that they only demonstrate that “they do not adapt to current situations and needs.”
