Julia Seidl, former municipal councilor and member of the National Council, is a candidate for the municipal and mayoral elections on April 14 in Innsbruck. For this reason, her client will also resign from the National Council.
“I thought very intensively about how to proceed and came to the decision that I wanted to go all-in for the municipal elections in Innsbruck,” Seidl made clear at a press conference on Friday. She is also running for mayor.
Withdrawal from Vienna
She will therefore resign from her position in the National Council. Her last speech in plenary will be in January. I enjoyed her role as spokesperson for tourism and culture for the Neos at the federal level, but “it’s just not feasible. You can’t dance at two weddings. I don’t think that is credible,” she clarifies.
Your focus is therefore 100 percent on the municipal elections in April. “The next few weeks will be about Innsbruck, about my hometown and I want something to finally move forward.”
