After Congress yesterday agreed to reform Article 49 of the Magna Carta, the House of Representatives rejected partial amendments related to other matters. The PNV asked for Euskadi’s agreed decision-making rights to be included in one of its eleven amendments.
The Congress Board of the deputies, with the votes in favor of the PP and the PSOE and with Sumar against, has rejected changes to the Spanish Constitution that have nothing to do with it the deletion of the term ‘disabled’ article 49so the amendments asking, among other things, to include the right to decide for Euskadi or to limit the immunity of King Felipe VI will not be discussed.
After the plenary session of Congress yesterday approved by 315 votes in favor and 33 abstentions (Vox) the progress towards the first social reform of the Magna Carta and the elimination of the term “disabled” to replace it with ” people with disabilities’, some parties such as PNV, Més per Mallorca and Compromís had submitted partial amendments referring to other topics for debate and voting.
However, the board of The House of Representatives rejected these amendments (11 from the PNV and 2 from the plurinational group Sumar), which justifies that “they have not adapted to the reform of the specific article.”
In this sense, the PNV amendments calling for the inclusion of Euskadi’s agreed right of decision in the Constitution, limiting the immunity of King Felipe VI, changing the functions of the armed forces or deleting Article 155 will remain undiscussed and what is voted on. also registered amendments to the Constitution to improve the institutional guarantee of historical rights.
He PNV regrets that the PP and the PSOE do not allow dialogue “in a calm manner” on other articles that may be amended, through a statement.
