The inauguration will take place two days later, on Saturday the 22nd. The date has been communicated to the members of the board by the President of the Basque Parliament, although official confirmation will not come until Thursday.
The Basque Parliament will hold the next meeting June 20 the plenary session of the investiture in which Imanol Pradales (PNV) is expected to be declared lehendakari, while the traditional act of inauguration under the Gernika tree there will be on the 22ndSaturday, according to the calendar confirmed to the members of the Legislative Council on Tuesday by the President of the Autonomous Chamber, Bakartxo Tejería.
The official confirmation of these dates – which had already been discussed since last week – will only take place next Thursday, when Tejeria will communicate them after the meeting of spokespersons at the end of the plenary session in which the opinion on incompatibilities of the parliamentarians present in the form the House for the new term of office.
The proclamation of Pradales is guaranteed thanks to the absolute majority which add up to the PNV and the PSE-EE in the plenary of the Basque Parliament, with 39 seats out of a total of 75.
The rest of the groups can apply for the inauguration, and it is possible that EH Bildu will present that of Pello Otxandiano, although in this case it does not have enough support to succeed.
