This Wednesday, the Congress Council rejected the amendments submitted by the political groups, justifying that “they were not in accordance with the reform of the specific article.”
The Congress of Deputies will approve on Thursday the initiative, promoted by the PP and the PSOE, to reform Article 49 of the Constitution and delete the term “disabled” and replace it with “person with disabilities.”
As agreed by the PSOE and the PP, the processing of the text through the single reading procedure, without going through a presentation or committee, and without accepting changes to other articles of the Constitution.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Congress leadership rejected the amendments (11 from the PNV and 2 from Sumar), justifying that “they were not in accordance with the reform of the specific article.”
The initiative will be followed up in a plenary session that will start in the Senate at 12 noon due to the activities in the House of Representatives.
Once the reform is approved, it will be sent to the Senate to complete the process.
