Thousands of citizens have been demonstrating in Madrid since this afternoon, against the amnesty law and the “cessions” of executive power from Pedro Sánchez to the independents. Called by the People’s Party and under the motto ‘In defense of the equality of the Spaniards’.

In Madrid’s Plaza de España, the PP tries to capitalize on citizens’ “outrage” over a rule by which, according to the PP, Sánchez “bought” the government’s presidency by “turning impunity votes” into a “caste” of politicians Catalans. The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and his barons have been joined by, among others, the former popular presidents of the government, Mariano Rajoy and José María Aznar.

Feijóo and his people have raised the tone against the government after the latest pact between the PSOE and its partners through an amendment to that law – which will be approved at the plenary session of Congress on the 30th – which will include Tsunami and the CDR protected with amnesty. , where terrorism is only excluded if there are “serious violations” of human rights.

From ‘Génova’ they believe that the socialists ‘always manage to fall lower’, since there is no good and bad terrorism, but there is terrorism and ‘under no circumstances can amnesty be granted’. “Terrorism is neither concealed nor forgiven, it is investigated and condemned to the end,” Feijóo proclaimed a few days ago in tribute to Gregorio Ordóñez, a PP councilor murdered by ETA on January 23, 1995.

The chairman of Basque PP, Javier de Andrés, who led the Basque People’s Party delegation in Madrid, has said the law represents a “privilege for politicians” and a “reduction of freedom”. “We want equality because what the amnesty law does is deprive us of justice. Justice is being deprived by giving impunity to some politicians. It is a decrease of freedom, equality and above all of democratic quality,” has censored.

This is the fourth time that the PP has called for a mobilization against the government pacts against the independentists and against the amnesty law. This new protest of the “people” against the government, which recognizes the distance that separates PSOE and PP in this parliamentary term, takes place when a negotiating window opens between the two, with the intervention of the European Commission to appoint the General Council of the Judiciary to renew.
