Pradales has already entered the electoral race, when the rest of the lehendakari candidates from other parties have been starring for some time: Pello Otxandiano (EH Bildu), Eneko Andueza (PSE-EE) and Javier de Andrés (PP). ).

For their part, the statements of Podemos and Sumar representatives last week indicated that no progress had been made on the agreement in the two months of talks and that in fact they maintained the same disagreements as at the beginning.

Both parties insist on keeping their respective candidates on the table, the purple party Miren Gorrotxategi (current parliamentary spokesperson for the Elkarrekin Podemos-IU coalition) and Sumar Mugimendua Alba García.

Gorrotxategi himself, who will be declared candidate for the Lehendakaritza by the purple parties on February 2 at the end of the primary process, warned that “nothing was possible with someone who wants to divide the left in Euskadi”, and stressed the difficulty of does not recognize that “there already exists a shared space representing the plurinational left.”
