There are six parts, organized according to the developmental stages of boys, girls and adolescents.
The Basque Government’s Families and Children Directorate has proposed giving families the means to do this guide and guide the girls, boys and adolescents in their concern about what the Internet is and the risks it entails. It has developed a series for this purpose accompanying and orientation guides for appropriate use of the Internet, applications and social networks, aimed at mothers, fathers and other adults bearing the title ‘Internet as a family: guidelines for safe use’.
This is a collection of six documents presented today, coinciding with yesterday’s celebration of the Safer Internet Day. These guides are organized based on Developmental stages of the minor: 0-3 years; 4-6 years; 7-9 years; 10-12 years old; 13-15 years old; and 16-18 years old.
The collection can be downloaded from the department’s website, in the family section: euskadi.eus/familia.
The purpose of these guides is to provide a set of age-appropriate guidelines for minors for the responsible and safe use of information and communications technologies (TRIC). But always observe new technologies as a space of opportunities (maintaining a balance in the time of use and without neglecting other activities) and as a facilitating space for learning and development, the interrelationship with their peers and with the rest of society.
