A timetable should be available in about ten days as to which projects can still be carried out in September. These are the wish lists of the ÖVP and the Greens.
Besides the surprise at how monstrous Johanna Mikl-Leitner’s birthday party was, the second most important topic at the party was: what’s next for the government? “We will know that within ten days,” was the answer from the ÖVP ministers. The ÖVP and the Greens are currently intensively negotiating a timetable, the contents of which can still be implemented at the end of September. If these negotiations fail, this would be an exit scenario for holding a super election Sunday on June 9.
At this point it seems that all efforts are being invested in creating a mini-program. One focus should be the construction sector, which is under great pressure. Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler told the ‘Krone’: “If the ÖVP has the courage to do so, we want to actually spend the billions on housing construction in all states.” Creating real estate is also a focus of the People’s Party.
The ÖVP wants further tax reductions. The ÖVP did not want to decide whether it should be a full-time bonus or a reduction in additional wage costs. When it comes to energy, the ÖVP is fundamentally in favor of independence from Russian gas, but gas should not become more expensive.
