The Minister of Social Rights of the Generalitat, Carles Campuzano, has assured that “if there are people who are not ultimately included in the amnesty, the Spanish government is open to a solution through pardon.”
The Minister of Social Rights of the Generalitat, Carlos Campuzanoassured this on Thursday The Spanish government is “open” to granting pardons to those who do not apply the amnesty law pending in the Congress of Deputies.
“We know that, if there are people who ultimately do not fall into the amnesty, there are pardon mechanisms in place and that the Spanish government is logically open to resolving these situations through pardons, if necessary,” the minister said in an interview in Radio 4 And The 2.
Campuzano, who is part of the ERC government as an independent, believes that by saying no to the amnesty law in Congress, the Junts has shown “very little respect” for the hundreds of persecuted ordinary people who could have benefited from it .
“Junts is not convergence,” he said, but it is “unpredictable” and has lacked “finesse” when it comes to seizing the moment to “close the folder of repression and that of politics and substantive dialogue to open.”
In the same interview, Carles Campuzano showed himself prepared to be on the ERC election list facing the next regional elections, although he currently does not believe he will join the Republican Party.
