Asked about the March 12 strike in the public sector, the PNV lehendakari candidate believes that strikes should be an “unusual instrument”, and not the “first option”. Regarding the ecological transition, he rejects “the transition from black to white, because competitiveness is at stake.”

The PNV lehendakari candidate, Imanol Pradales, has requested one “culture change” so that the strikes stop being “The First Option” when it comes to resolving labor disputes and becoming ‘an unusual instrument’.
Pradales referred in these terms to the strike announced on March 12 in the public sector, in an interview for the Euskadi Irratia program “Faktoria”. The Provincial Delegate for Infrastructure and Territorial Development of Bizkaia has also been critical of the call and provided two pieces of information in this regard. On the one hand, he compared the number of inhabitants and the percentage of strikes in the CAV and the Spanish state: “We assume 5% of the population of the state, but 50% of the strikes take place here. It’s not balanced. ”, has argued. Moreover, he has emphasized that the “majority” of strikes are taking place in the public sector, which employs 16% of the Basque population.
According to Jeltzale’s leader, “the strike is an instrument, but before you reach that point you have to talk, negotiate… I miss that culture very much.”
