The General Assembly of Eudel has approved the budgets of the Association of Municipalities of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa for 2024 with 512 votes in favor (PNV, PSE-EE And Independent) and the abstinence of the 299 Representatives of EH Bildu.
In this way, the sovereigntist formation has confirmed what it announced this Thursday: its abstention if there were no change in the governance model and if its requests were not taken into account.
Although the votes of PNV and PSE-EE in themselves were not enough to achieve the goal 3/5 parts necessary to approve budgets, Favorable support from independents has swung the vote.
The result of the vote represents the approval of the annual budget of the Association of Basque Municipalities, which totals € 3.7 million euros.
In her speech after the outcome of the vote, the chairman of Eudel, Esther Apraiz has congratulated itself on this “majority support” with the aim that “strategic budgets move forward to maintain the association’s activity and support the municipalities in the priority objectives of this new mandate.”
According to him, this result “shows Eudel’s maturity and willingness to work together on behalf of the world.” common interests of Euskadi’s local institutions, so that this benefits all citizens”.
Last Friday, Eudel brought together the group of mayors of Euskadi at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao, during the first general meeting of the new mandate, chaired by the Executive Commission elected in Donostia/San Sebastián last September.
