After the list of politician candidates around the Welsh FPÖ mayor Andreas Rabl, the second team also withdrew its application for the Shoah memorial organization. The Austrian Association of Friends of Yad Vashem must therefore vote on its dissolution.
“The board of the ‘Austrian Friends of Yad Vashem’ has received the news that the only list of candidates still running for president must withdraw their candidacy” – this letter was sent on Monday to the association’s more than 800 members, which commemorates the victims of the Shoah, or the Holocaust, is supported.
The reason given by individual applicants is concern about the compatibility of work and volunteering. The result: the board election scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled and instead there will even be a vote on the dissolution.
The future of the club is unclear
It is still unclear whether the organization is actually on the brink of extinction. Because it is unclear whether the request to dissolve the club will be accepted, and the letter received by the “Krone” also mentions the possibility of creating a new one.

Just a few weeks ago, the other candidate list had been reversed: several politicians, such as mayors Klaus Luger (SPÖ) and Andreas Rabl (FPÖ), had joined forces to ensure the association’s survival.
