– Elections after 21A: After last Sunday’s elections for the Basque Parliament, a period of at least two months will open for the election of the Lehendakari and the formation of the Basque government. The PNV is committed to renewing the coalition government with the PSE-EE. The Basque socialists, in turn, will argue for a government agreement based on their principles and programme. Moreover, they demand more weight in the future government. Both parties have 39 seats in a parliament of 75 and therefore have an absolute majority.
– Day of the book: On the occasion of Sant Jordi, Bilbao and Donostia / San Sebastián have organized the corresponding book fairs. In Bilbao, it will be installed on Pedro Ibarretxe Street, opposite the Jardines de Albia and the Palace of Justice, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Writers such as Jon Arretxe, Galder Reguera, Txani Rodríguez, Javier Sagastiberri, Juan Infante, Toti Martinez de Lezea, Elena Fernández, among others, will pass there. – Gross Domestic Product of the BAC: Eustat will today publish the data on the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV), corresponding to the first quarter of 2024. According to the latest data, the BAC’s GDP grew by 1.8% in 2023 and more than 16,000 jobs.
