The ERC National Executive has agreed to Rovira “coordinating the negotiations on the constitution of the new parliament, as well as subsequent negotiations,” the statement said.

The constitution of the parliament must take place no later than June 10, so the talks between the parties to elect the seven members of the Catalan chamber’s board, including the presidency, must take place during the June 9 European election campaign.

Once the parliament is constituted, the new president of the Catalan Chamber must nominate a candidate for the inauguration, whose election will take place no later than June 25.

The twenty ERC delegates can be decisive for the inaugurationto which both the PSC candidate and winner of last Sunday’s elections, Salvador Illa, and the former president and JxCat candidate, Carles Puigdemont, are currently running.
