Once again there is a fuss about the green EU list leader Lena Schilling: she is said not only to ‘hate’ her own party, but even to have flirted with a change of faction immediately after the elections. Schilling is now defending himself against the new allegations against the “Krone”.
New allegations against Lena Schilling via “Standard” and “Spiegel”. According to conversations at the end of November, the Greens’ leading EU candidate said she did not feel like a Green. But she could learn it. And she has never hated anything more than the Greens.
Concrete plan or ‘personal vendetta’?
And once she is elected on June 9, she wants to change her faction to the left. She said the latter in a conversation with several people. “Everything is taken out of context and is a personal vendetta by ex-girlfriends from other parties and the activist scene,” Schilling counters via “Krone”.
Left-wing activists would hate her because, as a former activist, she sided with Israel in the Middle East conflict and was not pro-Palestine.
Switch to the left? Witness publicly contradicts
The 23-year-old admits that moving closer to the Greens meant stomach ache and that a punishment could sometimes slip through the cracks. “But I realized that the Greens are the only ones with whom you can make climate policy.”
Schilling also provides a witness to expose the story of her planned move to the left as a fairy tale. Unlike the many who accuse, he appears by name. Gabriel Hofbauer-Lehrer, ÖBB manager and SPÖ member.
Faction change just a joke?
He notes that “during the conversation, the idea of joining the left-wing faction after the elections did not come from Schilling, but was put forward jokingly by others and that Lena did not take it seriously in any way.” Lena Schilling is shocked by the attacks on her person; this is “acting at the lowest level on a personal level”. Chat without context. She wants to deal aggressively with the accusations.
Just like her company around Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler and club boss Sigi Maurer. They continue to build a wall for their EU candidate.
