Date:

A new EU Parliament will be elected on June 9. Although many parties received prominent rejections when drawing up their lists, the ‘political places’ in Brussels itself are highly sought after. ‘If you have a grandfather, send him to Europe’ is an old but still relevant saying about politicians who end their careers in the Union in the autumn. Traditionally, not only the average age of the red-white-red parliamentarians is high, but also their entitlement to salaries, allowances and pension benefits.
