He Movement for the Republic Euskal Herria, Ehunwants to present his independence motion that this Friday was approved in the Bizkaian city of Plentzia with the vote in favor of EH Bildu and the abstention of the PNV and the independent group.
EHUN has explained that it will meet social agents, parties and unions this month to ask for their cooperation in bringing the declaration of independence to all municipalities, and Plentzia’s approval does not remain an “isolated incident.”
“We ask everyone to act with the responsibility that the historic moment demands,” he noted.
In addition, Ehun will soon open a “unilateral declaration of citizenship of the Basque Republic” on his website for all people who want it.
Ehun has reflected that ‘the more people and cities we liberate, the more legitimate we will be to liberate new people and cities. The further we progress on this path, the more power we will have to proclaim the Basque Republic throughout Euskal Herria and it is up to Basque society to take advantage of this opportunity,” he stressed.
Plentzia, the first municipality to declare itself “part of the Basque Republic”.
The Plentzia Municipal Council, governed by EH Bildu, has also been the first in Euskadi to declare itself as “part of the Basque Republic”.
The text recognizes that the “Basque Republic is a necessary instrument” and emphasizes that “the Republic is composed of citizens who have the same rights and demonstrate a participatory spirit.”
“As long as we are part of the Spanish state, it will not be possible to legislate” for the benefit of all residents, think the signatories of the motion, which the Ehun group plans to present in other Basque cities.
